Whoa Dakota – “Lovefool”

Whoa Dakota is a top-tier vocalist. Bringing a signature glassy-eyed hue, the Nashville songbird reinvents The Cardigans’ “Lovefool” into a sharp, shimmering, and terribly sad performance piece. “So, I cry, and I pray, and I beg,” her whole body quakes.

Her voice falls as diamond onto hardwood. There’s a tremendous poetic tragedy to her gaze, drenched in melancholy and torment, and her melodic choices are to die for. “Love me, love me / Say that you love me / Fool me, fool me / Go on and fool me,” she pleads.
