“Yummy” was already wobbling on thin ground (it’s clearly no masterpiece), and now, a country remix looks to extend the song’s cultural ubiquitousness. The Biebs has linked up with none other than the hoe-down lip-smackin’ duo Florida Georgia Line on a banjo-tweaked version that somehow deflates the original’s in-built sensuality.
One of FGL’s verses reads: “Bona fide stallion / In no stable, no, you stay on the run / Ain’t on the side, you’re number one / Yeah, every time I come around, you get ‘er done.”
And later, “I been up in Waffle House, but you my Chick-fil-A / And I been into waffle fries since our first date (Haha) / Ain’t got time for playin’, I’ma clean your whole plate (Girl, I’ma lick it up)”
