“Crazy times call for a crazy tune,” admits Mondo Cozmo. The tune in question is the earth-scorcher called “Upside Down,” a mish-mash of blues, rock, and hip-hop. He doesn’t mince lyrics about his thoughts on the world, and in many ways, its frantic handling of genre mimics the state of the world.
“Every single night I watch the evening news and wonder / If the cards are really stacked, if they’re coming from the dealer,” he confronts in the first verse. “If the drinks are truly free, yeah, the odds are in my favor / Someone better go, go, go get the Meyer.”
Cozmo is a bold one, that guy.
