Ruston Kelly – “Brave”

Bravery comes when you’re ready and able to confront your darkness. Ruston Kelly chronicles his own journey with the pulverizing track called “Brave,” cut with acoustic guitar and his scruffy vocal tone.  “I’ve already lost some years / To addiction and the fear / That I was worthless,” he pulls you in.

Kelly is fearless. Coming off his 2018 album, Dying Star, “Brave” is an exemplary reminder of his strength as a storyteller. “So I hope before I go / I get to see my garden grow / Tall and purposed,” he continues. His husky lamentations carry a profound implication, rounded out by the current state of the world. It’s that powerful.
