Emily Scott Robinson never disappoints. She’s got a voice as imposing as Linda Ronstadt’s, and while their vocal qualities are clearly different, they both evoke any and every kind of intense emotion. On her new song “The Time for Flowers,” Robinson offers a bit of comfort amidst these exhausting emotional times.
Her voice flutters and flies on the air itself. You don’t know how she does it. It just happens. “When I woke up this morning, something deep had shifted,” she confesses. “The sun was coming out, and the clouds had finally lifted.” While it might not seem like it in this moment, a time for beauty will come again. It always does.
