Lauren Alaina has really hit her stride. With the release of her new EP, Getting Over Him, a necessary emotional release, she continues notching smartly-written songs with a perfect pop-country fusion. “Bar Back” plays on the term “barback,” a bartender’s assistant, to reflect on a devastating heartbreak.
“You can have any bar that you want / But not this one / In midtown, find a new place to hang out / Better not see you around again,” she sings. Instead of letting her ex steal yet another thing from her life, Alaina stands her ground like the fierce, independent woman she is.
