Fab the Duo – “Heart to Break”

We are witnessing something truly astounding happening. Queer pop pair Fab the Duo have been making unmistakable waves this year. From “Our Love is Resistance” to “Party for Two,” they’re hitting on all cylinders. Now, they dish up a delectable stripped-down version of Kim Petras’ “Heart to Break,” switching into static electricity for their mournful bellows.

“One look at you, I’m powerless / I feel my body saying yes / Where’s my self control?” they fall to their knees, letting out a deafening scream. The production slithers and crawls through genres, from hard-coated rock to sickly sweet pop, gathering up their emotions like dried rose petals. Covers don’t always feel necessary, but this one sure does.
