Brett Ryan Stewart – “Dignity” (Bob Dylan Cover)

All a song really needs is a strong acoustic guitar. Crackling beneath him, as other percussive elements rise like smoke, Brett Ryan Stewart reworks Bob Dylan’s “Dignity” into a timely centerpiece to carry forth into 2021.

“Blind man breakin’ out of a trance / Puts both his hands in the pockets of chance,” he sings, letting the words crumble at his fingertips. “Hopin’ to find one circumstance… of dignity.” It’s harrowing and sharply hallow, yet appears to cut to the core of humanity these days.
