Liddy Clark – “If There Was No Traffic in LA”

Living overtop the 110 Freeway, connecting San Pedro to downtown LA, Liddy Clark had to get used to a constant wave of noise pollution. With her deceptively delicate new song “If There Was No Traffic in LA,” the rising country star retools honking horns and the clogged freeway as a vehicle to explore a relationship’s equally-unhurried pace.

“If there were no county lines / Maybe I would’ve seen the signs,” sings Clark over a bedrock of thumping percussion. “That you fled your one bedroom apartment / In Hollywood & you’re leaving town tonight.”
