Sampling a Chipmunk version of Bobby Vinton’s “Mr. Lonely” is a surefire way to get someone to listen to your song. That’s not to say John K hasn’t already built quite a career with his own work (we’ve been stans since “Wrong” from 2017). Here, he sets up the emotional weight of his own track “in case you miss me,” letting his heart rip wide open and ooze teardrops. “Only want what’s best for you. That’s all I’m saying,” he sings.
