Wisdom filters down from one generation to the next like rainwater passing over healing stones. That’s the root to Kris Allen’s new song “Hello, Mr. Right Next Door,” a plaintive number in which he gathers up tidbits of advice from his much older next door neighbor. “Have you got some wisdom for the rest of my life?” he asks, both as a direct question and a rhetorical statement. It’s nestled in growing pains and an ongoing existential crisis, an emotionally numb state into which we all must wade sooner or later.
