Lennon Stella is stealthy. As with her debut record early 2020, songs like the newly-minted “Bubble” hypnotizes by first drilling into your ear canal and then hooking its lyrical tentacles around your sensory brain matter. “Up high, in my bubble I’m floating / So light, I’m a baby you’re holding,” she purses her lips. The production hardens to a crisp, thumping percussion nailed around her like wooden stakes. Despite the bubbly synths and stringed instrument peeking through, there’s something earthly and alarmingly grounded to the arrangement.
