Allison Moorer is a national treasure, and we’ve taken her for granted. The title track to a new EP, “Wish for You” beams down from the ether as an extension of love. “You must be from the softest place,” she sings with an angelic tone. Guitars carry a ‘60s free spirit about them, even with a more rigid structure. It’s ethereal and defies expectation and genre boxes (it’s certainly far removed from 2019’s Blood), and that’s the magic.
