“I feel alive but I know, oh, I know / That I won’t be alive for long,” Foxes lyrics are dagger sharp. They stab in the heart and the gut simultaneously. “Too Much Colour” closes out her first record in six years, a decorative piano ballad that consumes everything in its wake. As it crescendos, an almost heavenly bending of light fractures the arrangement. Foxes seeks out such brokenness to cleanse and be reborn again.
