American Idol alum Jonny West lets his heartbreak tumble down upon piano keys. “don’t you have to go” is a visceral confession, finding the singer-songwriter weave the pain into jagged mosaic now present where his heart should be. “I know you were hoping there’d be one last tear to dry / But I don’t think about you / Not any more than I should,” West sings. On the chorus, he attempts to sever the emotional ties once and for all: “Don’t you have to go / Don’t act like you’re still mine / I thought you said my love was just something to pass the time.”
