Small town living is a unique sort of experience. “A bunch of patchwork dreamers tryin’ to hold onto the only life they know,” sings Hailey Whitters. With “Middle of America,” a collaboration with American Aquarium, Whitters reflects upon the hometowns lost between hard-top highways and bustling cityscapes, where the little people are still just getting by. “Raisin’ hell and raisin’ babies in the middle of America,” she later hollers on the crucial chorus line.
