John Calvin Abney likens his mind to a turnstile, consuming tickets for every passing moment. “Full Moon Friend” is a tumble down into dreamland with its rainbow-hued swirls and peach-tinted lens. “I want to be a salettile looming lovely next to you,” he observes. It’s almost as if he’s orbiting overhead, yet his feet are somehow glued into the earth’s crust. His voice rustles as reeds in a field, and his words cast sticky webs through the atmosphere, connecting the stars into a hypnotic pattern. His voice is an experience.
