Rachel Lorin – “Enough”

True to the title of her new album Self-Preservation, Rachel Lorin coaches herself into an empowered state and reminds herself that she is “Enough.” Synth-y beads percolate to the surface, while her voice wiles away like a spinning top through a slick R&B coating. “So I cut my hair, cover my lines / I’m in front of the mirror / I spend way too much time feeling bad / Changing my clothes, don’t know why,” she depicts every single doubt running like shadows in her mind. In doing so, she emerges renewed and more self-assured. Or she at least hopes to be.
