We only have ourselves to live with at the end of the day. Whatever that entails 一 regrets, reconciliation with the past, etc. 一 weighs heavily on our shoulders. With “Tomorrow Me,” country star Luke Combs anticipates what the next day may bring, fully bracing himself for an inevitable collision course for destruction. “In the mornin’ light, I’ll be the guy staring down ‘I told you so’ for the hundredth time,” he sings with a ripe frankness. “And you’ll be okay, you always are / And I’ll be pickin’ up the pieces if we go that far.” Well, at least he’s honest with himself; most of us just aren’t.
