Society tells you if you don’t adhere to a strict timeline for your life something is wrong with you. Whether that has to deal with marriage or kids or buying a house (ha, I kid on that last one), life just doesn’t work that way. With her new song “Right on Time,” Lindsay Ell sheds pre-conceived ideas she once clung to through her 30s and chooses that, actually, things are working out how they’re supposed to. And it doesn’t make her less of a human being. “There’s nothing wrong if it takes a bit longer to figure it out / Least that’s what I tell myself,” she confesses before the chorus. It’s a reminder that only we define what our lives will be; time be damned.
