Horns lurch from the speakers, a forceful cry setting up the emotional tangle that’s to come. Vandoliers’ “Before the Fall” depicts a relationship’s collapse, as singer Joshua Fleming watches, immovable, as it all cracks and crumbles under the weight. “Why the hell you crying ?” sings Fleming, a quiet anger trembling in his bones. “I should have never second guessed / You were different from the rest.” A force of (musical) nature, the song primes for a self-titled LP coming this summer.
