Lizzo proved this week you can take responsibility for one’s blindspots without doubling down. When it came to her attention that her new song “Grrrls” contained an ableist slur, she issued a heartfelt apology and corrected the mistake. The new iteration slaps even harder than the original. “Where my ladies at?” she sings, playing call and response with her background singers. With a romping melody, Lizzo tussles right and left with a barbed vocal line. It’s so addicting, you’ll never stop singing along.
