Bella Poarch certainly has a particular musical aesthetic. “Dolls” serves as a spiritual sequel to viral hit “Build a Bitch” from last year. With “Dolls,” Poarch leans further into a dark, doomsday musicality, as she slides and slithers over a Billie Eilish-like production. “Don’t provoke us or we will push you downhill,” she sings in her signature airy tone. “Might be pretty, but we’re still / Bitter as much as we’re sweet / Knife hidden under the sheets.” It’s a frightening image, worthy of any horror movie, and you may even be unable to sleep tonight. Dolls are creepy like that.
