Self-sabotage is par for the course in the digital age. You doomscroll, compare yourself to others, and languish in a sea of doubts and regret. On their new song “liar,” pop duo sundial work through their own issues with a pointed songwriting blade. “I signed up for the gym close by / And it’s been six months, and I’ve gone twice,” Dorothy Chan admits. Life appears to crumble down upon her shoulders, but turning to paper seems to alleviate some of the pain. “Oh, trust me when I say I’m a liar / Not a single thing I say is worth your time,” Chan continues, with co-performer Jisu Kim in the background. Well, at least they’re self-aware.
