The Lone Bellow are one of the most criminally underrated bands around. Since 2013, the trio 一 comprised of Zach Williams, Kanene Donehey Pipkin, and Brian Elmquist 一 have spun gold with their music. It’s only apt that their brand new song is called “Gold,” a deceptively bright arrangement wrapped snugly around lyrics about someone in the throes of addiction. “It’s in my blood, it’s in the water / It’s calling me still,” Williams calls, a searing plea into the wilderness. “I could leave, I know I oughta / But there’s gold in them hills.”
