Honestly – “Night Life”

The room spins with kaleidoscope lights and energy. It’s a buzz. But inside, depression strangles you. That’s the basis for indie-pop duo Honestly’s new song “Night Life,” a deceptively jaunty production draped around bottoming out lyrics. The band screams in shocking silence, “Nobody knows me like this room / I’ve cried and I’ve danced under its moon / And now I’m exposed, half drunk / In love so madly, I want to be alone so badly.” The song’s thumping backlight illuminates with desperation and hurt, echoing into the ear canal.
