It hasn’t been that long, but Yael Danon has already transitioned from dancing away the pain to total indifference. “Don’t Miss You at All” shimmies with euphoria, as the artist basks in renewed self-worth in a way that rejuvenates down to the soles of her feet. “All I think of when I look back on those days is how my life was so much easier,” she admits, “but it wasn’t what I wanted / All I wanted wasn’t there.” Drums pound in her eardrums, pushing her further into a sultry, sticky rhythm. It’s hypnotically delicious in a way that gets even the listener to cheer her on.
