Kid Travis’ voice flies out of his body, a rose petal on an early-autumn gust. In “Mid September,” the singer-songwriter considers a new love interest as the one to potentially change his entire worldview. “I knew from the moment I met you that I’d be under your spell, too,” he reveals. It’s a confession he’s never for a second ashamed of; rather, he owns it all. “These nights I’ve been drunk, be cautious of your love,” he continues. “‘Cause it won’t come back around / Think fast, no baby can’t relax for your love.” Even if his love is never reciprocated, he doesn’t regret it, not for a moment.
