The Summer Set struggled with fame in 2016’s “Figure Me Out.” With “Famous,” off their brand new record Blossom, they return to that same well. “All of my friends are getting famous, but I couldn’t fake it even if I tried,” Brian Dales shrugs. It’s a barbed-wire lyric amidst an overgrown bush of them. While the Hollywood machine crushes his shoulders, he’s also barely managing to deal with a break-up. “I should probably take your number out my phone / Tell myself I know better but I don’t,” he admits. He’s at least aware enough to be honest with himself, even if it doesn’t lead to anything.
