Gabriella Rose – “In the Dark”

Three years ago, Gabriella Rose impressed with her Lost in Translation EP and her surprisingly unsettling song “The Chair,” in which she tells the tale of a serial killer. Now, “In the Dark” signals her comeback. It’s nearly as twistedly dark, musically speaking, and feels like a natural extension of her previous work. “Paranoia starts to creep in / Phone calls while I’m sleeping,” sings Rose. The story depicts a relationship gone sour, as she suspects her love of being unfaithful. “There’s a blond hair on your sweater / What’s it doing there?” she asks. “Does she do it better? / Why do I ever care?”
