Daniel Seavey – “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?”

Why Don’t We’s Daniel Seavey steps out from the band and ventures into solo territory. “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?” is an electrifying, guitar-driven piece 一 finding the singer-songwriter lamenting words he once spoke. “Oh, my darling, can we pretend that we’re good?” he pleads. “Just for the night ’til the morning / I’d take it back if I could.” The words, claiming he didn’t return that big ole L word, remain heavy on his heart and mind. So much so, he’s racked with guilt and self-induced pain.
