Lainey Wilson – “Wildflowers and Wild Horses”

“I’m five generations of blazing a trail,” sings Lainey Wilson. A cut from her new record, “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” plugs into Wilson’s natural duality. “I push like a daisy through old sidewalk cracks,” she relates the dependence of one on the other. “Yeah, my kinda crazy’s still running its course with wildflowers and wild horses.” The arrangement is dusty, pumping with a horse’s steady gallop across the desert and onto the horizon. Wilson is an outlaw, she suggests, and she does it her own way.
