Ruston Kelly knows his weaknesses better than anybody, and he’s finally ready to confront them all. With the title track to a forthcoming record, the raspy-voiced performer offers up the refrain for the entire record, singing, “We don’t give in to the weakness.” While it’s certainly a battle, an uphill climb to emerge from one’s own wreckage and fly free, there is an absolution that comes from winning. “I woke up dreaming of her face again,” he rips back the barricades around his heart. It pulses raw, mirrored in the way the guitars grind and the drums ring in the eardrums. “I just want to lose control…” he trails off.
