Found on the Scream VI soundtrack, Demi Lovato’s “Still Alive” finds the powerhouse combating Ghostface. “I don’t wanna just survive / Give me something to sink all my teeth in,” she sings. “Eat the devil and spit out my demons.” Darkly-laced electric guitars swirl in sharp patterns, Lovato’s voice nearly as sinister and body-numbing. She rattles you awake, just as Ghostface goes in for the plunge. Later, she proudly admits that she’s “already died a thousand times” and “went to Hell but I’m back and I’m breathing.” It’s twisted but it’s the irresistible kind. We can’t get enough.
