Anxiety takes song form with Danielle Bradbery’s “Monster.” A heart-weary ballad, her lamentation finds her wandering the halls of her mind, attempting to wrangle the nightmares that just won’t leave her alone. “You always lie to me, then you lie down with me,” she sings. “You won’t leave and you’re so unhealthy.” As her brain spirals out of control, she morphs into something else, too. Alone and forlorn, she must contend with herself and finally learn how to squelch that slimy creature before it swallows her whole.
