“Maybe every heart breaks the same way,” crows The Lone Bellow over raucous drums. “Same Tears” trembles with a cascade of teardrops, each heart seemingly the same when plummeted into all-consuming black. The melody sticks to the brain, with the trio’s trusty harmonies lingering between your eardrums long after the song is finished. “Same tears, different face,” they sing in the chorus. They line their pockets with heartbreak, experience really, and find solace in knowing that everyone feels such pain the same way. There’s hope in that alone.
