Hannah Blaylock – “What I’m Thinking”

Formerly of Edens Edge (remember them?!), Hannah Blaylock possesses one of country music’s most criminally underrated voices. As in the case of “What I’m Thinking,” her newest release, she has a way of crafting her melodies with precision. She glides from her chest to her head voice so effortlessly that you wonder exactly how she does it. “There’ s a whisper in the dark / If we listen with our hearts, we’ll know what to do / So go ahead and make a move,” she sings. What begins as a slow boil quickly erupts into a cosmic explosion. “You know what I’m thinking,” she curls her voice around each syllable. It’s magnificent.
