“Everybody wants somebody,” powers Moncrieff over electric handclaps and percussion. Drums roar behind him, with his voice a torrential, driving force. In “Love Somebody,” he sends up a reminder to let those you love how much you care. It could be too late if you don’t. “Never be afraid to let it show / So if you’re gonna hold somebody / Then you better hold them hella close / I only knew I loved somebody the moment I let her go.” The pain hits like a ton of bricks, dressed up inside shiny production and synths. The emotional center whips the listener around like a hurricane, and you can never escape, even after the song ends.
