A drum beat palpitates. He might not have a heart left, yet the pain still courses through his bloodstream. “The Hole You Left,” from his brand new Autophagia EP, finds Kisos aching to be let go from the past. “I’m sinking deep into the hole you left behind,” he sings. “‘Cause how can you go, leave me alone / Tears in my eyes, flow up from soul.” He yearns for some absolution, seeking a way to sever the changes that bind him. He’s as trapped by an ex as he is by his own emotions. No matter what he tries to do, he can’t shake what’s been done to him. The scars run too deep for that.
