Hannah Blaylock – “Man from Memphis”

“Mercy me, they like their drink in Memphis,” sings Hannay Blaylock. With her new guitar-soaked song “Man from Memphis,” the singer-songwriter throws up a warning, a flare to ward off those from marrying a man from Memphis. They’re a little rowdy, rough around the edges, and may leave some wreckage in their wake. “Lord help me,” she says in the last line. “Trifling piece of s***.” Her words crumble like dried-out roses, yet her voice commands the epic teardown. There’s no taming those who won’t be tamed. You just have to ride off into the sunset.
