Believe it or not, you can learn a lot about a person in three days. You might even fall in love. Or worse, you realize you are just on two different wavelengths. Such is the case with Sid Simons’ raucous new song “Three Days,” in which he laments the crossed wires of a promising new relationship. “You don’t even really know me!” he works his voice into knots. Drums course in the production, also heavy on guitars that jingle and jangle. “And I can’t get to sleep because you stole my spare key / And I’m a little afraid that you might come and murder me,” he admits. That’s certainly an admission that’s justified. Maybe he better sleep with the lights on tonight.
