Jaime Wyatt is feeling musically freer than she ever has, leading her to Feel Good with her forthcoming new record, sampled with “Love is a Place.” Even as summer fades, there is still time for love. “She could free me from a lifetime of pain / And I’ve been down and out but never fallen,” she sings over a blistering organ. “Love is a place I’ve never known / I’d like to go and would you take me there?” The groove runs hot and wild, mimicking that of her new-found romance with another woman. It’s seductive and wiry, seeing her slide over a soulful melody like a pelican over the water. “Love is a Place” could not end summer on a higher note even if it tried.
