It’s an act of bravery to own up to one’s mistakes, especially when you do so in a song. “You Were Right” finds Caitlynne Curtis coming clean about a few things. “I could blame it on the liquor / I could blame it on my ex,” she sings, fully exposing her heart. “I could lie and say you didn’t love me like you did / But you were right you didn’t deserve any of this.” Curtis leaves it all out in the open — making her performance a pulverizing experience. It’s easily one of the year’s finest vocals, and Curtis just put herself on the map. She’ll be unstoppable.
