“When I get lost, you know right where to find me,” bellows Chris Stapleton. With the waltz-like “It Takes a Woman,” the monstrous singer basks in love’s warmth, as he confides with the listener that he’s not half the man he is without his wife. “You are my comfort whenever I’m troubled,” he warbles. “When I’m alone, you are my friend / You make me high and keep my feet off the ground / Whatever I need, you give it to me.” As always, Stapleton roars and parts his melodies like the Red Sea. There’s just something ingrained in his vocal cords that can make you feel anything. And boy, does he knock you to your knees with this one.
